SUPERVISOR – CONCERNTRATOR AUTOCLAVES
About The Role
Reporting to the Foreman – Concentrator and Autoclaves, the primary purpose of this role is to lead & manage the Concentrator and Autoclaves sections of the Fixed Plant Maintenance Department with the aim of maintaining and improving mill performance and availability in terms of safety, production, cost control and sustainability
In This Role, You Will
- Assist the Foreman with the general operation of the Concentrator and Autoclave section within the department
- Must understand and comply with the maintenance performance indices, KPI’s
- Day to day problems are readily dealt with by generating a range of solutions for consideration by the Foreman
- Assist with the development of procedures
- Maintain safe working practices for subordinates plus staff working environment
- Ensure all work is carried out in a proper manner within government regulations & company policy
- Provide direction, on the job training & technical assistance for subordinates as required
- Ensure that the Section daily work plans are executed in the conjunction with set and variable priorities i.e. critical breakdowns are managed appropriately
- Maintain effective communication & cooperation with the operating departments
- Organize, plan & execute tasks using available manpower, tools & materials in the most cost effective and efficient manner
- Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant NPL policies & procedures
About You
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:
- Trades Certificate in Fitting & Machining from a recognized institution
- A minimum of 3 – 5 years’ work experience in a similar leadership role within the extractive or resource industry
- Proven ability in leading and managing personnel
- High level of self-motivation
- Good communication, leadership & technical skills
- Good planning and organization skills with demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
- Experience with slurry pumps, GEHO pumps, float cells, ball mills and pressure oxidation circuits (autoclaves desirable).
- Ability to determine complex drawings and manuals.
- Ensure that maintenance activities are completed as per the weekly planned maintenance schedules and breakdowns as required
- Strong knowledge of fixed plant equipment and maintenance practices
- Experience with SAP or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
Mobilization Requirement
This is a PNG National position, a site-based role on a FIFO arrangement with a rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening (to be arranged only for successful candidates after the interview stage), and provide an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months). Candidates must be PNG Nationals and available to start immediately. Females are encouraged to apply.
