Job Description
New Porgera now has immediate position vacancies within the Underground Mobile Equipment Maintenance Section of the Mobiel Maintenance Department for
Storeman - Tool Store, Underground Maintenance Workshop. Reporting to the Underground Maintenance Work Supervisor, the successful candidate will join a dynamic team responsible for controlling the physical flow of materials into and out of the stores.
The Ideal Candidate Must Have
- A minimum of Grade 10 Education
- PNG Class 3 or 6 license
- Physically fit and healthy to do heavy work
- Sound communication skills - verbal and written
- Effective in Safety interactions, understanding of hazards ID tools and reporting
- Experience with MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel (desirable)
- Experience working as a trades assistant and familiar with workshop tooling names (desirable)
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, identify and inspect all incoming tools in and out of the Tools store
- Maintain function storage of materials, efficient utilization of space and ready accessibility of fast moving tools
- Control the physical kitting and staging of tools for maintenance activities
- Update tracking records
- Control and maintain the security of tools
- General cleanliness and security of all the workshop and staging areas.
- Be trustworthy in controlling tools in and out of the store
- Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with the PJV Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policy and rules and procedures
Mobilization Requirements
- Ability to successfully pass a pre- employment medical and drug and alcohol test
- Be a Local Porgeran (Cat 1 or Cat 2) Candidate and available to start immediately
- The Roster is 14 days on and 7 days off
