About The Role
New Porgera Limited is seeking a dedicated and experienced
Specialist – Community Land Access to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and negotiating Community Lands Access Agreements, ensuring that all land access and usage are conducted in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while maintaining positive relationships with local communities.
In this role, you will
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and landowners to facilitate land access and usage agreements.
- Be responsible for negotiating terms of access agreements, ensuring that they meet both company objectives and community needs.
- Involves monitoring and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to land access and usage.
- Address and resolve any disputes or issues arising from land access agreements, working closely with legal and regulatory teams to ensure all agreements are legally sound and enforceable.
- You will provide regular updates and reports on the status of land access agreements to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with the NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health and safety rules and procedures
About You
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience
- A bachelor degree in Land Administration or Land Studies
- Significant field experience in customary and alienated land administration
- Knowledge in relevant Mining Acts/Legislation, map reading, surveys and basic geotechnical principles
- Experience of land administration in the Highlands of PNG
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Patience, integrity, impartiality and ability to handle potentially explosive situations
- Strength of character to make tough decisions and hold to them despite criticism
- Ability to communicate and interact at all levels both inside and outside the operational areas
- Ability to read and write English with strong report writing and presentation skills
Mobilization Requirement
- This position is open to PNG Citizens Only
- A Fly-In Fly-Out arrangement with a rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening. (This will be arranged only for successful candidates who progress after the interview stage).
- Must have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months).
