Your Impact
As a Specialist, External Relations & Communications, you will support the implementation of external affairs strategies that strengthen relationships with government agencies, institutions, and key partners. Your work will help ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, enhance Newmont’s reputation, and support operational continuity.
As part of our team, you will
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, NGOs, and institutional partners.
- Monitor and analyze regulatory and policy developments that may impact operations.
- Support strategies to manage external risks and opportunities.
- Represent the organization in institutional and governmental forums when required.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of documentation for external partners.
- Collaborate with Sustainability, External Relations, Finance, and internal teams on engagement initiatives.
- Maintain records and databases of stakeholder interactions and commitments.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to address external stakeholder needs.
- Respond to external inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop communication materials and presentations for internal and external engagement.
Prerequisites for your success in this role
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience supervising or leading a team member, with the ability to guide, support, and coordinate work effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate regulatory and policy developments.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work effectively within established systems and processes while identifying opportunities for improvement.
Your work environment
You will collaborate with internal teams such as Corporate Sustainability & External Relations and Finance, while engaging with external stakeholders including Costa Rican government institutions and industry organizations. The role requires strong cross-functional coordination and professional representation of the company in external engagements.
