Job Description
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Adhere to the relevant Supply Chain strategy and ensure that critical tasks, performance targets, plans and budgets are adhered to with due consideration of risk identification
- Implement the Materials Plan to meet end-user requirements and ensure optimal inventory levels
- Execute MRP runs, converting demand forecasts into actionable purchase orders and work orders, ensuring the right materials are available when needed.
- Track and monitor inventory levels for critical materials, identifying potential shortages and working with commercial teams to expedite orders as required.
- Coordination of non-stock orders and prioritization of expediting based on operational needs, aligning closely with maintenance schedules.
- Communicate material requirements and delivery timelines to production, purchasing, and warehousing to ensure smooth workflows.
- Update MRP system data regularly, including supplier lead times, reorder points, and inventory safety stock levels.
- Generate MRP and inventory reports, providing insights into material availability, order fulfilment, and adherence to maintenance schedules.
- Adhere to the inventory optimization plans, schedules and execute relevant activities in a timely and visible manner.
- Support the working capital optimization opportunities for execution e.g. disposal of excess and obsolete stock
- Adhere to the standards and guidelines for inventory management
- Raise visibility of optimization opportunities for execution e.g. disposal of excess and obsolete stock
- Escalate issues like supplier late delivery, emergency orders etc.
- Actively undertake research, broad scanning, benchmarking and best practice analysis aimed at ultimately producing better results
- Provide necessary analytical support required for proper MRP planning and inventory control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field-Desirable
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) by APICS- Desirable
Experience
- At least 3+ years’ experience within a planning and inventory management environment in a large operation, utilising SAP or similar system
Technical knowledge(experience) and skills required for role:
- Advanced level understanding of end-to-end supply chain management processes, both from a physical and transactional point of view
- Sound knowledge of systematic capabilities and systems materials planning, i.e., demand algorithms and statistical models and operation thereof
- Experience working in a complex environment and managing multiple internal and external stakeholder perspectives
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for managing inventory data.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and advanced Excel.
- Proficient skill in data visualization tools like Power BI, or Celonis etc.
