About the Job:
As a Security/Safety Tech at Coeur Rochester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our property and personnel.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include understanding and implementing all site-specific policies and procedures, as well as executing emergency response activities, when necessary, all while delivering exceptional customer service. We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable individual to join our security team as a Security/Safety Technician. In this role, you will oversee site security and assist with various safety needs. The position primarily operates Monday through Thursday but may require you to fill in for other shifts as needed. Strong adaptability, effective communication skills, and a commitment to upholding our high service standards are essential for success in this role.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Monitor for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
- Review/monitor security video cameras and recordings
- Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
- Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
- Provide assistance to employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist with new hire and mine rescue training
- Ability to train contractors and complete necessary documentation
- Conduct inspections of vehicles and equipment
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Knowledgeable of current security technologies and surveillance methods
- Possess effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; display exceptional customer service
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively, identifying critical issues quickly and accurately

- Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools

- Must be at least 18 years old with high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
- Must have access to reliable transportation
- Candidate must complete a physical and drug screen, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
- Preferred – Three (3) years of surface mining experience
- Preferred – Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements
- Preferred - MSHA instructor (IS designation)
- Preferred – Emergency response experience
- Preferred – Experience in daily/random site security audits/inspections
Additional Information: Rotating Shifts: 5 Days On, 4 Days Off / 4 Days On, 5 Days Off (12-hour shifts)
- Hourly Rate Range: $26.53-31.38 (DOE)
- Quarterly bonus up to $4,100 (up to $16,400 annually)
- Relocation available for certain positions
