Position: Operator, Gypsum Operations
Role Summary:
The Operator, Gypsum Operations, is responsible for performing daily operational activities by establishing policies and procedures. This role ensures that equipment, resources, and systems are operational and performance-tested, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of the gypsum plant. The Operator assists in maintaining a well-trained workforce and supports the achievement of MWSPC's production targets and operational objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Daily Operational Execution: Performs routine operational tasks as directed, ensuring compliance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Monitors plant equipment and processes, reporting any deviations or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Assists in the preparation and review of daily operational reports, providing accurate and timely information on plant conditions.
- Follows operational instructions and technical advice provided by supervisors to ensure efficient plant operations.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Assists in troubleshooting operational issues, providing support to supervisors and maintenance personnel.
- Participates in shutdown and start-up operations, following established procedures to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- Responds to critical operational situations under the direction of the supervisor, taking appropriate actions to maintain plant stability.
- Maintenance Coordination: Collaborates with operations, production, and engineering personnel to support the implementation of corrective maintenance procedures.
- Follows specialized instructions and safety precautions during maintenance activities, ensuring safe and effective repairs.
- Assist maintenance teams by making sure the area is safe to work in.
- Process Improvement Support: Provides input and suggestions for plant modifications aimed at improving quality, safety, operational reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Assists in the implementation of approved plant modifications, following established procedures and guidelines.
Minimum Experience:
- A diploma or bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification
- At least 8 years of experience in chemical industries, including ammonium or phosphate fertilizers, or similar related industries.
