Job Purpose
Provide technical support to Plant Operations and Maintenance teams for the duration of rotating equipment lifecycle, focusing on equipment health, capacity, efficiency, and reliability to ensure equipment and plant availability KPIs are met and to ensure safe operations.
Understand and troubleshoot rotating equipment failures and ensure effective and appropriate repairs are carried out within reasonable timeframes.
Utilize knowledge of the best-in class engineering and maintenance practices in to improve equipment performance.
Ensure Company standards are adhered to during operations and maintenance of equipment.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide engineering, design, analysis, calculations, evaluation, reliability program execution and other reliability engineering tasks for rotating equipment for MWSPC facilities.
- Perform all work within code compliance, applicable industry specifications, standards and recommended practices, and site specifications and standards.
- Lead/Facilitate root cause failure analysis.
- Utilize advanced reliability techniques (FMEA, Weibull analysis) and act as facilitator in developing solutions to long standing reliability issues.
- Perform life cycle cost analysis on design modification and metallurgy upgrade options to provide recommendations to management.
- Provide technical input to strategies for maintenance, repair, and replacement specifications.
- Identify and implement improvement ideas to improve operational performance, increase availability, and reduce costs.
- Support plant turnaround efforts with technical and leadership support.
- Prepare rotating equipment detail design packages for plant modification and upgrades.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's / College Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum Experience:
Around 8 years of professional experience in Fertilizer, Chemical, Petrochemical or Oil Industry.

Skills:
- Knowledge of motors, turbines, compressors, fans, gear boxes, and pumps is essential, agitators, mixers, reducers and dryers are an asset.
- Knowledge of gear design, ratings, manufacturing methods and quality control is preferred.
- Working knowledge on operation, maintenance and repair methods and techniques of gears, fluid drives, shafts, bearings, couplings, power transmission systems and turbo machinery.
- Knowledge of machine dynamics, vibration measurement and analysis, tribology and lubrication, and failure analysis.
- Must be able to apply theory and experience to the application, inspection, start-up, troubleshooting and operation of various power transmission devices.
- Proven track record of managing time limited projects.
- Excellent relationship building skills (internal and external)
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English required,
- Extensive computer skills in using Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) plus other software pertinent to the work performed would be advantageous.
- Ability to work with diverse populations, and foster a cooperative team environment.
