Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Manager, Capital Projects, you will be part of the Capital Projects Department. You will be responsible for planning, supervising, coordinating and executing construction activities for projects within the Capital Projects portfolio. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Comply with safety standards;
- Establish and execute task observations in collaboration with the Health and Safety department;
- Participate in safety meetings, accident investigations and analyses and follow up on recommendations, in addition to participating in or conducting planned inspections;
- Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of the ramp development and the construction of underground facilities;
- Oversee order or requisition materials or supplies needed;
- Work jointly with contractor leaders;
- Analyze contractor performances and quality and recommend solutions;
- Provide daily, weekly, monthly reports of underground operations;
- Collaborate with the engineering department, to establish objectives and set priorities;
- Perform conflict management when necessary and manage or assist in the management of disciplinary measure;
- Inspect work quality progress, equipment, construction facilities to verify safety and ensure that specifications and standards are met;
- Support the project team for the mid/long term planning.
What You Need To Succeed
- College Diploma in Mining Technology or a Diploma of vocational studies in ore extraction;
- 10 years’ of supervisory experience;
- Experience as an Assistant General Supervisor will be considered an asset;
- Valid Hard Rock Mining Common Core;
- Valid Supervisor Common Core;
- Valid Explosives Permit;
- Valid Driver's License.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 4/3 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
