Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role

Position Reports To: Senior Underground Technician
Position Overview
The key objective of this position is to perform UG surveying and all relevant tasks associated with role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily mine survey tasks to ensure accurate reporting of production data, and compliance with regulations.
- Conduct quality control checks on underground mine workings, including tunnels, shafts, and other mining infrastructure to ensure compliance with regulations and efficient operations.
- Provide driving layouts for underground development crews utilizing a monopod system, with potential for utilizing different methods in future.
- Conduct void scans utilizing drone and Lidar payloads.
- Conduct production and exploration drilling mark ups.
- Complete month end survey reconciliation.
- Complete construction markups when required.
- Any/All other tasks introduced to survey team in the future.
- Periodically assist ventilation technicians in completing weekly vent surveys and reports.
Qualifications
- A degree/diploma in Mine Technology or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Underground Mine Surveyor
- Experience with surveying and mapping software is an asset.
- Experience with Deswik is an asset.
- Knowledge of data analysis and reporting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong focus on safety and adherence to regulations, with experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing safety procedures.
- Possess Valid driver's license.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position will be between $75,000 - 100,000.
