Our Opportunity

Work Location: Solomon - Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples

Roster: 8D6R or 4D3R/4D3R/8D6R FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

Our Solomon Statutory Risk and Compliance team is seeking a qualified Registrable Plant Inspector to carry out planned inspections and testing on plant and mobile equipment.

Prior experience in a similar role within the mining industry is essential for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed inspections, testing and audits on both mobile and fixed plant
Produce high-quality detailed reports related to inspections, testing and audits
Use specialist inspection and test equipment in the performance of inspections, NDT and auditing
Use knowledge and skills, from qualifications and experience, to assess compliance of plant and machinery in accordance with relevant WA legislation and standards
Provide technical support and advice related to compliance matters
Creating notifications/work orders in SAP
Tracking and maintaining of defects register
Ensure all activities undertaken are carried out in accordance with company safety policy and procedures

Qualifications and Experience

AICIP/API pressure equipment inspection qualifications
A thorough understanding and knowledge of all applicable Australian Standards, Work Health Safety Act 2020, Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022, Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022
Experience in the mining industry carrying out inspections
Lifting equipment qualifications and experience with cranes
High attention to detail, strong report writing abilities and advanced written and verbal communication skills
Adaptable with working hours
AINDT/ PCN/ ISO 9712 NDT qualifications highly regarded
Engineering background desirable
