The Nunavut Exploration group has been exploring Nunavut’s’ vast landscape for over a decade. The group is responsible for the development of Nunavut’s’ properties and operates in an exceptional geological environment, conducive to world-class discoveries. Reporting to the Exploration Logistics Coordinator, you will be part of the Exploration team and works on all our exploration activities on the Meliadine & Meadowbank Project, Nunavut. You will assist in managing all operational aspects of logistics, which include, but are not limited to, winter hauling campaigns, ice drilling programs, overseeing helicopter operations, managing departmental inventory, Nunavut yearly sealift, and departmental scheduling.You will ensure that objectives are met in accordance with Agnico Eagle’s culture, health & safety and environment standards.
- Support the execution of short- and medium-term strategies for all exploration activities, (logistics, scheduling and general maintenance) on site;
- Manage day to day operations in relation to exploration;
- Monitor and track inventory; maintain inventory management system;
- Enter approved invoices into JDE for payment and prepare requisitions;
- Collaborate with internal departments and external contractors to ensure safe and efficient execution of planned exploration activities;
- Create Scope of Work (SOW) and Request for Proposals (RFPs) for upcoming programs, track invoices and contractor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
- Contribute to the generation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports;
- Ensure the effective transfer of information between shifts;
- Ensure all Agnico Eagle’s Health & Safety and Environmental policies are respected by all employees and contractors at all work sites;
- Perform all other related tasks.
What You Need To Succeed
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Hold a Class 3 license or able to obtain one.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working within exploration. Experience in logistics, inventory management or administration is considered an asset.
- Previous experience working around helicopters.
- Able to operate heavy equipment, skid steer, backhoe, dozer etc.
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn and perform routine maintenance
- Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and challenging terrain.
- Familiar with JDE or SAP. Ability to track inventory and generate reports.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment in the arctic is considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead and to work in a team.
- Must have good organizational skills and problem-solving ability.
- Strong commitment to Health and Safety.
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written).
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest.
- Location: Kivalliq (Meliadine & Meadowbank) Project.
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
