Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Exploration Coordinator, you will be part of the Exploration department; you will contribute by providing geological support to the exploration team that will focus on logging and sampling drill holes using current software.
- Accurately log, photograph and sample drill core;
- Perform geological mapping, sampling and prospecting activities;
- Ensuring geological data is collected in aquardance to QA/QC protocols;
- Keep databases up to date for surface exploration and diamond drilling data;
- Contribute to the planning and execution of the exploration programs;
- Participate in the reporting of activities;
- Contribute to the overall geological knowledge of the property;
- Participate in the health & safety meetings and ensure that the environmental and safety protocols are followed on the work sites.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Earth Science program, or Bachelor’s of Science;
- Must either have a membership as a Professional Geologist in a Canadian province or territory, or be eligible for, and working towards a professional accreditation in geology in a Canadian province or territory;
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years’ of experience working in the field of exploration;
- Experience core logging using a standard geological software;
- Class G/5 Driver’s License is required;
- Experience using and/or interpreting various types of geological data in a GIS (ArcGIS) platform and Leapfrog Geo for exploration applications;
- Strong computer and data management skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment and in the Canadian Arctic are an asset;
- High safety standard.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work in Nunavut, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec;
