Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Maintenance General Supervisor, you will perform your duties as a member of the Maintenance Department and collaborate with other departments of the division. The incumbent will lead a multi-disciplined team responsible for performing maintenance tasks such as welding, machining, rebuilt components and servicing the mobile fleet under our responsibilities. He/she will do so by adopting a coaching approach with the team, by setting clear expectations and by building the capacity of the team to deliver on those expectations. She/He will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Supervise a maintenance team including welders, machinists, millwrights, Tire technicians, helpers, specialized technicians for servicing fire suppression systems, non-destructive test (NDT), etc.
- Oversee maintenance, performance and quality of work for the welders, millwrights, machinists, tire technicians, specialized technicians and helpers;
- Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and quality, reduce cost, decrease scrap and product rework.
- Promote safe work practices and environmental stewardship applying and overseeing the principles and practices of the Supervision Formula;
- Collaborate on the creation and responsible for execution of the weekly maintenance schedule;
- Provide coaching, mentorship and play an active role in the development of leaders and tradespeople;
- Build healthy and productive partnerships with all stakeholders;
- Oversee execution of the administrative responsibilities of the team (work schedule/vacations, timesheet approval, candidate selection, new employee onboarding, maintain employees’ files, disciplinary files/recovery plans, organize training to ensure it is followed as per company’s policies and procedures);
- Ensure compliance with the Mines Act and other relevant codes.
- Ensure healthy and productive communication with cross shift.
What You Need To Succeed
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role;
- CWB Welding Supervisor certification or proven experience with CWB welding codes and standards is an asset;
- In-depth knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and equipment is an asset;
- In-depth knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the machinist trade;
- In-depth knowledge of precision maintenance concept is an asset;
- Proven ability to manage up to 15 direct reports;
- Knowledge of subcontract management is an asset;
- Experience leading a multi-disciplined team is required;
- Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team;
- A desire to learn, and a passion for talent development is considered essential to this role.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
