Job Purpose
To lead the development, implementation and review of Risk Based Inspection (RBI) strategy for all stationary equipment and piping. Also, to identify and implement best practices in RBI to ensure that the integrity of all static equipment are managed properly in accordance with company MSHEM and common industry standards, codes and government regulations so as to improve safety of plant and enhance continued operation of plant by minimizing unexpected failures.
Key Accountabilities
Lead the development, implementation, and review of Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) strategy and procedure, ensuring they align with company standards and best practices
Develop and maintain databases and tracking systems to document RBI findings and inspection results, mainly in the company RBI software.
Provide direction and guidance to the RBI study team, including setting goals, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion of RBI analyses
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies related to RBI and inspections, and incorporate new best practices and techniques into the plant's RBI and inspection programs
Collaborate with regulatory agencies and auditors to ensure the plant's RBI program meets all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
Using RBI risk assessment process, develop optimized inspection program (including selection of NDE methods and coverage) to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant.
Monitor the quality of implementation of inspection in Oracle to confirm correct strategies are in place with right task lists, work center, frequency and schedule
Periodically review and update RBI program and inspection plans in Oracle, after turnarounds and inspections, also as recommended by RCA and MOC.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that RBI strategies are integrated smoothly and effectively across the site
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including plant management, reliability, inspection, maintenance and operations personnel, and other departments as needed
Prepare and report monthly RBI KPIs and progress status
Ensure the RBI team is following up-to-date codes and standards. Also, ensure to update the RBI Software periodically.
Drive the Reliability Culture in the company through RBI presentations, banners, email flyers etc.
Comply with Maaden Safety, Security, Health, and Environment Management System (MSHEM)
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.Sc. degree in Mechanical/Materials/Metallurgical Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in Inspection and NDT fields, in mining, metals, chemical, or petrochemical industry.
- Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), with proven studies conducted as RBI leader or facilitator using RBI software, to analyze both equipment and piping loops.
- Experience in materials testing, failure analysis, corrosion, integrity operating windows (IOWs), welding defects, condition assessment and Fitness for Service (FFS)
- Certification in API 580 is a must.
- In-depth knowledge of API 581, API 571, as well as API 510, API 570, API 653.
