The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

SUPERVISOR, MATERIALS MANAGEMENT
Responsible for performing supervisory functions with regards to receiving, issuing, inventory counts and shipping of items by the Company’s warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
Area 1:
To manage the operations of the warehouse(s) at the mine site.
- Ensure the staff proactively monitors all equipment and skillfully investigates and resolves issues in a way to minimize disruption to the mining operations.
- Ensure an adequate staff coverage at all times including coverage for schedules.
- Ensure hazardous materials, chemicals and gases are stored safely.
- Conduct daily planning meeting (toolbox) with staff to formulate and assess work assignments.
- Oversee daily inventory Count Report.
- Ensure required training program are implemented when planned.
- Liaise with other departments on materials usage and turnover to ensure that inventory holdings are adequate.
- Manage the transfer of materials in and out of the warehouse and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Area 2
To provide technical support and customer service related to warehouse management
- Prepares communication materials, manuals and other written materials related to warehouse management.
- Investigate, delegate and rectify numerous daily queries, problems and supply issues.
- Prepares reports and completes documentation related to warehouse administration
- Complies with established methodologies and quality standards related to [technical area] while at the same time recommending new or alternate approaches
- Escalates issues requiring knowledge about the broader business impact of decisions. Works with mentor as needed
Area 3
To provide supervision and direction to the warehouse staff
- Provide leadership by giving employees clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to various direct reports.
- Ensure training is provided in accordance with future needs.
- Acts as a communication linchpin with the team and models the organization’s values
- Contributes to the development and revision of policies and procedures for the work unit / team
Job Qualifications
Minimum Requirements And Nice To Haves
minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
- Technical diploma, preferable in Inventory and Warehouse management or related field.
Work Experience - Nature & Length
- Minimum 10 years experience in a warehouse environment.
- Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or lead hand role.
Additional Qualifications - Competency Requirements
- Experience with warehouse management software is an asset
- Must be computer literate
- Must be able to work in a fast paced work environment.
- Excellent organizational skill and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
