Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the General Supervisor, Health and Safety, you will be part of the Health and Safety Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Health and Safety (between 50% and 75% of the overall position):
- Develop and facilitate the implementation of Health and Safety Management tools (Job Hazard Analysis, Job Task Observation, Incident Declaration forms, Incident Investigation, as well as assisting in developing a Meadowbank Health & Safety Program;
- Facilitate and lead incident investigations using the ICAM methodology;
- Initiate cross-departmental training to improve workflow and streamline the management of risks both at operational level and in larger scope such as H&S risks;
- Assist in audits in relation to the Risk Monitoring and Management System (RMMS) principles;
- Review and optimize the utilization of H&S software and the standardization of document control and record management site-wide;
- Perform workplace audits on the implementation of H&S tools (JTO, JHA) as well as streamline departmental safety meetings;
- Assist with Emergency Measures’, and Industrial Hygiene tasks, where applicable;
- Becoming a Surface and Mine Rescue Emergency Responder may be required;
Security (between 25 % and 50% of the overall position):
- Work in collaboration and under the guidance of the Meadowbank Security Supervisors, for security-related matters, as needed;
- Perform security related investigations;
- Conduct drug and alcohol testing as per the Drug and Alcohol Company Policy and site procedures;
- Perform security risk assessment as required;
- Provide Security related training to workers;
- Other duties as required.
What You Need To Succeed
- Certificate in a Health and Safety related field would be considered an asset;
- 5+ years of experience in Health and Safety is considered an asset;
- 5+ years of experience working in Canadian law enforcement positions, with experience dealing with disruptive behaviors;
- Mining experience is considered an asset;
- A Valid Driver’s License;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
