Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Survey Leader, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will be responsible for carrying out various field-based assignments in the open pit mine to support production and engineering activities. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Execute daily tasks for the survey team based on tasks priorities of the production and survey leader determination including but not limited to grade shorts, water elevations surveys, drill pattern stakeout, clean-up requirements, field limits, etc…
- Acquire expertise with the various programs used in the survey department including but not limited to Deswik, AutoCAD, Maptek & Trimble software
- Ensure survey quality of every field survey jobs and regular update of:
- Mine Status Map (Tuesday/Friday)
- Waste Dump Status Map (Saturday)
- Site Map update (once per quarter)
- Detailed Pit Status (at mid and end of month)
- Ore Stockpiles (On demand or for end of month)
- Aggregate Stockpiles (at end of month during crushing season and end of quarter otherwise)
- Surveyed cut and bootlegs (as soon as practical)
- Assist the surveyor leader with end of month process and different special projects.
- Provide technical coaching to the students and to the helpers.
- Promote Health and Safety by participating and in the monthly Departmental H&S meeting.
What You Need To Succeed
- College Diploma in Mine Engineering/Technology or higher
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar role;
- Underground survey and drone experience is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office suites, AutoCAD and mine design/planning software.
- Knowledge of the Deswik software is considered an asset.
Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
