Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Underground Engineering Coordinator, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will be responsible for daily underground mining activities and aligning priorities according to the schedule. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental standards.
- Track, analyze, and report weekly and monthly KPIs to monitor production performance, assess plan compliance, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop, review, and maintain mine development plans to support underground mining operations
- Design levels, layouts, and supporting infrastructure while ensuring adherence to safety regulations, engineering standards, and operational requirements.
- Lead 3MR (mid‑range) planning and prepare the Monthly Mine Analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide coverage for weekly planning activities during vacation periods or as required, using Deswik OPS.
- Optimize integration and workflows between Deswik Sched and Deswik OPS to improve scheduling accuracy and operational execution.
- Participate in productivity and cost‑reduction initiatives, contributing engineering expertise to continuous improvement projects.
- Provide operational guidance and technical support to assist with tactical decision-making and short‑term operational needs.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or College Diploma in Mine Engineering/Technology;
- 5 or more years of experience in underground mining;
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and mine design software (Deswik is considered an asset).
Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
