Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Permitting Lead Water and Waste, you will be part of the Permitting Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Manage and lead studies (desktop and field based; water balance, geochemistry, water quality, water management infrastructure) related to water and waste management for permitting activities;
- Manage or develop water models to support permitting applications;
- Lead or assist preparation of required documentation for permitting activities;
- Develop technical presentations for multiple stakeholders;
- Participate in the planning and preparation of management plans;
- Ability to work independently, as well as with teams from mining operations;
- Work to connect and build relationships internally and externally;
- Promote health and safety among the team and encourage initiatives;
- Promote standardization.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience;
- Five (5) years of relevant mining and/or permitting experience;
- Experience with water modelling is considered an asset;
- Experience with artificial intelligence for use in the workplace is considered an asset;
- Demonstrated progressive experience in managing studies related to water management; direct experience in these types of studies from industrial or mining sites is considered an asset;
- Experience working in Nunavut is considered an asset.
Note that the official working language at our Nunavut operations is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in either Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda or Mirabel, QC, or meetings at other locations across Canada. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle will accommodate to cover travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
