Reliability Data Specialist
Position Description
The Data Specialist assists the planning and reliability team to ensure accurate and efficient management of maintenance and operational data within SAP. They are responsible for maintaining data integrity, generating insightful reports, and supporting data-driven decision-making processes to optimize the performance and reliability of mining equipment and operations. By overseeing the effective use of SAP for data entry, analysis, and reporting, the Data Specialist plays a key role in enhancing the efficiency of maintenance activities, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the mine site.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of maintenance plans, bill of materials (BOMs) and functional locations (FLOCs) as needed.
- Maintain and update the master data related to maintenance activities, such as assets, spare parts, and maintenance plans.
- Conduct regular audits of SAP data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards.
- Generate regular and ad-hoc maintenance reports using SAP tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) like downtime, asset reliability, and maintenance costs.
- Collaborate with planning and reliability team to provide data-driven insights to improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor and resolve data discrepancies in SAP to maintain data consistency and prevent errors in reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify areas for data management and process improvements.
- Support the implementation of new SAP features, processes, or maintenance strategies to optimize operations.
- Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for SAP maintenance data entry, reporting, and analysis processes.
- Provide support for SAP users within the maintenance team by troubleshooting data-related issues or system errors.
- Providing a current asset condition monitoring data to support the planning & reliability program.
- Conduct analysis on condition monitoring to support reliability team.
- Other duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with the principles of Reliability Centered Maintenance techniques.
- Experience with SAP or any other Enterprise Asset Management systems.
- Exposure to failure analysis and in the use of root cause investigation techniques
- Hands on experience with collecting and analyzing condition monitoring data
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong prioritization, organization, and reasoning skills.
- Ability to self-direct and work well within a team.
- Ability to write sound technical reports and making clear & concise recommendations.
- Able to travel to and access various areas across the mine site as required.
The position is for a 4 days on 3 days on 10 hour shift schedule, however Barrick Hemlo reserves the right to change/alter schedules based on operational needs.

Hemlo has produced more than 21 million ounces of gold and has been operating continuously for more than 30 years.
