The position
Glencore Peru is seeking a pre-professional or professional intern to support the chartering team at Lima, conducting administrative and commercial duties related to the administration and freights negotiation for exports and imports as well as to provide the company with relevant market information. This position offers you an opportunity to develop into a dynamic, entrepreneurial and performance-driven environment, looking after the smooth coordination with suppliers, service providers, people in other departments and main office.
Responsibilities
Support the chartering team in:
- Elaboration of periodic shipments reports.
- Freight market research to support freight negotiations.
- Execution of the freight contracts for both containers and bulk shipments. Written and verbal contact with suppliers, service providers and main office.
- Handling data entry in the shipping data base.
- Improving processes and procedures to maximize efficiency.
Requirements
- Advanced university students (8 th to 10 th semester) or recently graduate with degree in international trade, business administration, economics, industrial engineer or another relevant field or recently graduate from technical institute with degree in international trade.
- Advanced IT applications skills: MS Excel, Visual Basic and macros. Knowledge of any other tool like Power BI is an asset.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Excellent written and strong social communications skills.
- Strong numerical skills and logical thinking.
