Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Transportation & Services General Supervisor, you will be part of the Transportation Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Ensure good maintenance of the AWAR or WTHR road and bridges, conduct inspections and reports;
- Responsible for all transportation activities from Baker Lake to Meadowbank, or Meadowbank to Amaruq;
- Responsible for supervising the primary crusher area and all operators within the area, or the Amaruq ore loading area and operators within the area;
- Responsible for supervising the Fuel & Freight transportation, LHT operations, and AWAR or WTHR road maintenance crews;
- Ensure that all direct employees have received proper training/accreditation for the jobs they perform and for the tools/equipment they operate;
- Ensure that all practices and procedures are performed with respect to the defined regulations;
- Ensure that the health and safety compliance of direct employees is attained by performing daily, weekly, and monthly safety audits (work card checks, road inspections, safety meetings, etc.);
- Communicate pertinent information to Transportation Dispatcher and second Transportation Supervisor on duty;
- Prepare the daily shift lineups for LHT, Road Maintenance, Fuel & Freight, and Loader operators, in an effort to maximize the use of resources and achieve daily transportation objectives;
- Keep track of employee working hours and complete timesheet reports for employee pay;
- Leading by example and encouraging adherence to Agnico Eagle’s health and safety code of conduct;
- Perform all other duties as requested by the management team.
What You Need To Succeed
- College degree of equivalent;
- 3 to 5 years of experience in leading mine operations, long-haul trucking, or road maintenance operations;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
- Possess or eligible for a Level 2 Supervisor Certificate as per the Mine Act;
- Possess or be eligible to obtain a valid First Aid Certificate;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivaliq region, Mirabel, or Val d’Or, Quebec
