Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Maintenance and Process Plant General Superintendent, you will supervise the maintenance team and work in close collaboration with members of the other departments of the mine. You will identify goals for the maintenance team in terms of efficiency, quality of work performed and continuous improvement and ensures they are met so as to meet operational needs. You will set the goals and objectives to be attained, while respecting and encouraging Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Coordinate the Maintenance Department for all operations on site;
- Ensure that the maintenance team works efficiently with all resources at hand;
- Prepare the allocated budget and control costs for the upcoming operations;
- Ensure the accuracy of the training and development program for employees;
- Ensure that equipment availability meets or exceeds all production requirements by ensuring that the maintenance best practices program is in place;
- Ensure that all technical aspects for maintenance assets during the procurement process are addressed;
- Participate in developing and reaching the overall vision of the operation with other departments and management teams;
- Coach and mentor subordinates in regard to employee relations, safety, environmental considerations, productivity and cost issues and address inappropriate behaviour as required;
- Ensure that the team is working towards improving procedures and methods to improve employee safety;
- Lead by example and encourage adherence to Agnico Eagle’s Health and Safety Code of Conduct.
What You Need To Succeed
- Professional diploma in a related maintenance field, or equivalent;
- 10+ years’ experience in management of maintenance;
- Experience in the mining industry with mobile, surface, open pit and underground equipment is required;
- JDE working knowledge is considered an asset;
- Hold or be eligible for a Level 2 Supervisor Certification, as per the Mining Act;
- Hold or be eligible for a valid First Aid Certificate;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage and work in a team;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a SPEEXX English language assessment.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 4 days of work, followed by 3 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
