Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, you will be part of the Construction Department. Construction Supervisor will be responsible for planning, supervising, coordinating and executing construction, long hole and backfilling activities. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Supervises all personnel and activities related to construction projects, long hole production and backfilling processes;
- Meets project budgets and timelines by monitoring site activities and expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions; Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and constructability reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements;
- Accomplishes construction project results by contributing to project scope definition; estimating; enforcing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating contractor works; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders;
- Ensures that all production related information such as worker activity, project completion status, drilling and mucking rates and back fill levels are entered accurately and on time into their prescribed data locations;
- Complete Longhole QA/QC daily;
- Inform and receive information from and to crew and technical services about longhole priorities;
- Prevents orders and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, the various regulations and codes;
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures;
- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
What You Need To Succeed
- Preferred minimum 2 years experience as a Miner 1 Construction or Miner 1 Longhole;
- 10 years’ of related experience in underground mining;
- Underground Common Core and Underground Supervisor Common Core;
- Competency with the Ontario Mining Act and Regulations;
- Physically Fit, self starter with can do attitude;
- Tolerance for hot, cold and humid environments;
- Demonstrated Safety awareness;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
