Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, you will be part of the Engineering Department. Your role will consist of the supervision, organization and quality control of underground survey tasks, including development mark-ups and pick-ups, long-hole mark-ups, CM surveys, drill hole gyro tests, survey drawings, issuing survey plans, month-end calculations, surface stockpile surveys and occasional surface survey work when required. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Control the quality of survey deliverables, including mark-ups, prints, drawings, CMS, and stockpile surveys;
- Supervise the front line of an 8-person survey team;
- Act as a liaison between the Survey Department, the Planning Department and the Operations Department;
- Control the delivery and quality of reconciled month-end survey data, including SOX compliance;
- Spearhead innovations and improvements in survey techniques and technology;
- Ensure that the maintenance and calibration of all survey equipment are completed;
- Maintain and implement site-wide survey/Deswik survey systems;
- Check surveys of legacy and new excavations;
- Mentor and promote career and skill growth within the survey department;
- Assist in daily survey tasks if required;
- Work closely with the Planning Department to ensure surveys for upcoming plans are kept up to date;
- Work closely with the Operations Department (Supervisors, captains) to ensure the daily lineup is optimal and all survey information for mine production is up to date.
What You Need To Succeed
- Survey/Engineering Technical Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience;
- Minimum 2 years' experience in underground operating mine sites;
- Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment;
- Working knowledge of mine design software (Deswik, AutoCAD, Promine);
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset;
- Ability to use and calibrate associated survey equipment;
- Commits to and delivers tasks with safety & competence;
- Flexibility in being able to meet requirements that may change during a day;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, 4 days of work followed by 3 days of rest at our Kirkland Complex, ON.
