Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role
Position: Mill Operator
Shift: 14/14 Days and Nights
Position Reports To : Mill Supervisor
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated and hard working individual to join our team as a Mill Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mill processing circuits. Your primary duties will include ensuring that all operational activities are carried out safely and effectively, while consistently meeting production targets. Your commitment to safety and efficiency will be critical in maintaining a productive work environment. Camp and travel accommodations will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating and monitoring various circuits in the processing plant as required by the supervisor. Circuits include: Crushing, Grinding, Leaching/Elution, Reagents, Detox and Tailings.
- Inspect the circuits regularly to detect any trouble spots and have them corrected as quickly as possible.
- Ensure the safe & efficient operation of all areas in the mill and report any unsafe conditions to mill supervisor immediately.
- Develop an understanding of all the mill circuits through training, reading, and hands-on experience.
- Always maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications
- 3 plus years in milling environment
- Experience in operational circuits (Grinding, leaching, reagents, CND, tailings, crushing, elution & control room).
- Knowledge of Delta V or similar system and troubleshooting capabilities.
- High mechanical aptitude.
- Valid driver’s license with access to personal transportation
- Ability to be flexible in job tasks and responsibilities so that work is balanced between team members.
- Demonstrated ability to share knowledge gained with others and the ability to solve problems.
- Proficient with computer and computer-based equipment.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
- Able to work a 14 day, 12 hours per day with day and night shift schedule.
