Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role
Position: Water Treatment Plant Operator
Shift: 7/7 - day and night shifts
Position Reports To: Site Services Superintendent
Position Overview
We are currently looking for a highly motived team member who will step in and support the Water Treatment Plant within the Site Services team. The Water Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and consistent monitoring and operation of the Rainy River water treatment system to ensure high quality output of wastewater.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring, Testing, and Operation of Potable Water Treatment Plant
- Monitoring, Testing, and Operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and BCRs
- Monitoring, Testing, and Operation of the Sanitary Sewer Lift Stations and Treatment System
- Gathering water samples and performing water quality testing.
- Setting up valves to direct water to and monitoring flows to the Treatment Trains and Environmental Discharge Locations.
- Keeping logs and sampling records
- Testing and maintenance of Eyewash and Safety Showers
- Support the maintenance and operations of Fire Suppression Equipment i.e.; Fire Shacks, Sprinkler Systems and Fire Pump Room.
- Support other Site Services Duties as required.
- Housekeeping of work areas
- Minor Maintenance in related work areas
Qualifications, Skills And Abilities
- 3 years’ experience working in a similar role with large industrial wastewater systems and or post-secondary education specializing in wastewater treatment systems
- Previous oilfield, mining experience would be an asset
- Ticketed Water Treatment Operator Level 2
- Ticketed Wastewater Treatment Level 1
- Other relevant tickets an asset
- Strong mechanical skills
- Valid G Driver’s License
