Position Description
The Barrick Africa Middle East Team is seeking to recruit a
Demand Planning Specialist tomanage and execute the demand planning and replenishment cycle translating site demand signals into accurate and timely purchase orders that ensure material availability across all AME sites.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate the SAP MRP-based demand planning and replenishment process for assigned sites and material categories.
- Through collaborative demand planning, keeping our key commodities and demand planning items within our targeted NMS coverage and managing our demand and supply pipelines aligned to this target
- Review MRP recommendations daily/weekly, validating demand signals against site maintenance plans and making replenishment decisions.
- To define management rules to cater for the growth and direction of the business.
- Participate in monthly and weekly demand-review meetings with site Demand & Supply Superintendents and user departments validating forecasts and capturing planned maintenance demand.
- Identify slow-moving, excess and at-risk inventory - providing recommendations to the Demand & Inventory Superintendent.
- Continued analysis of inventory trends and identifying opportunities to optimise and reduce holding costs.
- Manage back-orders and ensure escalation and recovery plans for critical short items.
- Work closely with sourcing and procurement/suppliers to have complete overview of current order status and lead times for demand plan related items
- Produce weekly demand and replenishment performance reports.
Qualification Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field.
Experience And Skills Requirements
- 3–5 years in demand planning, inventory management or procurement.
- SAP MRP proficiency essential.
- Experience with forecasting techniques and inventory optimisation.
- Mining or heavy industry background advantageous.
- Ability to interpret maintenance plans, site demand, supplier lead times, and inventory trends to support accurate replenishment decisions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across site operations, maintenance, procurement, sourcing, and supplier teams.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy in demand planning, reporting, and purchase order recommendations.
- Strong planning, organising, and prioritisation skills, particularly in managing critical shortages, back-orders, and competing site requirements.
- Effective communication and reporting skills, including the ability to clearly escalate supply risks and present performance insights.
