Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Ground Control Superintendent, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Provide technical support for the ground control department;
- Monitor seismic systems;
- Complete technical drawings, stress modelling, and post data analysis;
- Compile data;
- Conduct stability analyses in support of design studies;
- Follow-up on ground control related events;
- Perform on-call duties and off-site work via remote login as required;
- Write technical memoranda and reports;
- Ensure any applicable regulations are followed;
- Integrate environmental consideration into daily activities/ tasks/etc throughout all areas and phases of our operations: conduct business in such a manner to prevent and mitigate negative environmental impacts;
- Strive to continually improve our operations environmental performance and management, both with reporting and corrective actions;
- Comply with all environmental policies and procedures;
- Communicate constantly with all other departments with underground exposure to ensure all safety protocol are followed and understood in relation to Ground Control;
- Other duties as directed.
What You Need To Succeed
- Undergraduate degree in Geological or Mining Engineering;
- 2-3 years underground operations experience (Ground control related experience preferred);
- Experience with Seismic data processing, analysis and Interpretations (MX-RAP);
- Experience with Stress modelling software (Map3D);
- Experience with rock mechanicals instrumentation and measurement techniques;
- Flexibility in being able to meet requirements that may change during the course of a day;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 4 days of work, followed by 3 days off at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
