Job Description
The Production Driller is responsible for the accurate, safe and efficient operation of the production drill in accordance with plans, monitoring to ensure the safety of the workers in the area and reporting or rectifying all issues.
Responsibilities
- perform accurate drilling by working with engineering to ensure holes are drilled correctly;
- ensure adequate signage and barricades are up around drilling areas;
- productively perform mine production tasks as required;
- ensure the safe and efficient completion of all tasks as assigned by Supervisor;
- ensure machinery used is cleaned and presented for service regularly;
- report any mechanical issues or damage immediately;
- accurately complete all required daily activity and safety reporting as directed;
- attend and contribute to pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, safety meetings, roster change and shift change meetings;
- complete all pre-start checks prior to use of equipment;
- drive for continuous improvement and an environment of 'innovation';
- conduct workplace inspections eg Take 5's and JSA's when required;
- report immediately any incidents, accidents or near misses;
- any other duties that Redpath may direct you to perform, which you are capable of performing
Qualifications
- experienced in the operation of Production Drills;
- ability to multi-skill in underground operations;
- valid manual drivers licence;
- current First Aid & CPR certificates;
- ability to read plans;
- sound planning and organising skills to schedule and complete tasks;
- the ability to work well with others in a team environment as well as work unsupervised;
- good vebal and written communication skills;
- a drive for continuous improvement and contribute to an environment of 'innovation';
- able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and complete assigned tasks safely;
- a safety approach in keeping with Redpath's principle Safety - First, Last and Always.
