Job Description
The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for leading a safe and efficient maintenance operation achieving exceptional equipment reliability and maintaining compliance with the Health, Safety, Training, Environmental and Quality systems whilst providing leadership and direction for the maintenance team.
Responsibilities
- Repairs and maintenance of mechanical equipment on site;
- Direction, supervision and coaching of all mechanical staff;
- Day to day recording of progress of works;
- Recruit, train and assess all mechanical personnel;
- Communicate the Health, Safety and Training compliance message;
- Submit asset disposal, management of change, capex, plant requests as required;
- Submit new contractor, non-listed asset, request for new supplier, plant transfer, purchase orders as required;
- Fill out safety behaviours observation cards daily & safety task observation cards weekly;
- Submit warranty claims when required;
- Identify and manage risk as required;
- File documents daily;
- Investigate ICAM accidents as required;
- Receipt goods on delivery dockets as required;
- Investigate breakdowns weekly;
- Communicate with Operators and Supervisors weekly;
- Review, update, and conduct inventory for critical spare parts every 3 months;
- Attend and conduct (when required) pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, safety meetings, roster change and shift change meetings;
- Report immediately any incidents, accidents or near misses;
- Conduct Workplace Inspections (eg Take 5's/TTTCs) and JSA's when required;
- Complete all pre start checks prior to use of equipment;
- Develop and maintain a climate of 'innovation' where all employees can challenge work methods to improve safety, productivity and profitability;
- Many other duties that Redpath may direct you to perform, which you are capable of performing.
Qualifications
- Mechanical trades qualification or relevant tertiary qualification.
- Experience in mechanical installation and maintenance in an underground mining environment.
- Experience with managing a team of mechanical personnel.
- Valid manual drivers licence.
- Current First Aid & CPR qualifications.
- Ability to hold and maintain national police clearance certificate.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Hold current Incident cause Analysis Method (ICAM) qualifications.
