About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Key Responsibilities
- Perform site inspections (exploration drills, underground mine, mill, septic, tailings infrastructure, hazardous waste)
- Field Work (Surface Water, Groundwater, biological monitoring and other as assigned)
- Able to conduct data entry
Skills & Qualifications
- Working towards a relevant degree in an Environmental field (Science, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Environmental Science/Resource & Sustainability, Biology, Engineering or other)
- Experience with Spill Response and Mitigation Self-starter who can anticipate needs and work independently
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking, able to manage competing priorities in a fast paced, growing work environment.
- The incumbent will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills (oral/written communication and presentation), a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
This position is based in Island Gold site operations working on a defined rotation schedule. Flights are available from Toronto, Sudbury and Rouyn- Noranda, QC. Rotation schedule is 7days on, 7days off. Accommodations and food will be provided by the company.
