Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Chemist I or II to join the Carlin Process team. The Chemist is responsible for QA/QC functions in the laboratory for daily operations working closely with laboratory supervisors. They maintain, troubleshoot and optimize laboratory instrumentation.

Responsibilities
- QA/QC functions in the laboratory for daily operations working closely with laboratory supervisors
- Collect, compile and analyze large sets of QA/QC analytical data and be able to draw useful conclusions from datasets.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and optimize laboratory instrumentation
- Researching and purchasing of new laboratory instrumentation
- Maintain service contracts and are responsible for preventative maintenance on instrumentation
- Supervise vendor field service engineers for service visits and ensure their safety
- Support laboratory technicians with chemistry and laboratory technical knowledge.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Zero to five years of post-graduate experience preferably within the mining industry required
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Mining industry experience, preferably within a production environment preferred
- B.S. in Chemistry or equivalent required
- M.S. or other advanced degree preferred
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook, etc.) required
- Oracle R11.5.10 or R12 or similar ERP preferred
- LIMS preferred
