Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Safety and Environmental Engineer to develop, implement, and oversee workplace safety and environmental programs. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, minimize workplace hazards, and promote sustainable environmental practices. This role requires a strong understanding of health and safety regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and environmental protection measures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate potential workplace dangers.
• Design and implement environmental protection initiatives to minimize waste, pollution, and energy consumption.
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and environmental hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide safety training and awareness programs for employees and management.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to integrate safety and environmental considerations into project planning.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and submit regulatory documentation as required.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory changes in workplace safety and environmental standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
• degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar) are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and environmental impact evaluations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement effective safety solutions.
• Strong communication and training skills to educate employees on safety procedures.
• Proficiency in safety management software and reporting tools.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience in industries such as manufacturing, construction, energy, Mining, or chemical processing is a plus.
