Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Ground Control Coordinator, you will be part of the Engineering Department and will collaborate with other departments of mine. You will perform good engineering practices and be responsible for observing and establishing solutions to ensure workable ground stability. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Carry out and record regular underground and open pit inspections to guarantee QA/QC for everything related to ground control (primary & secondary support, backfill, grouting, instrumentation, etc.);
- Ensure employees make good use of the Ground control register and perform inspections whenever a comment is written down in the daily log;
- Perform task observations for ground support installation. Provide support and training to miners and open pit operators;
- Create ground support layouts for secondary support and rehabilitation;
- Analyze data trends from underground and surface instruments including the Open pit radar;
- Contribute to the Ground control management program annual updates;
- Participate and lead ground control improvement initiatives.
What You Need To Succeed
- Technical diploma in Mine Engineering, Geology or any relevant related field of expertise;
- 3+ years in mining with 1+ years in ground control / rock mechanics is preferred;
- Proven track record in operational mining projects is essential;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
- Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office suites, AutoCAD and mine design/planning software. Knowledge of the Deswik software is an asset;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written).
Votre horaire de travail
- Horaire : 14 jours de travail, suivis de 14 jours pour les déplacements et le repos; vols au départ de toutes les communautés de la région de Kivalliq, Mirabel ou Val-d’Or (Québec).
