Kumba Iron Ore
We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects – exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.
Job Description
As
People & Organisation Administrator you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Safety, Health, and Environment
- Adhere to all safety, health and environmental practices and requirements.
- SHE policies and procedures:
- Escalate all unsafe practices or risks to the direct supervisor/manager.
- Support good housekeeping in the department and on-site to ensure compliance.
- Active participation in SLAMs, HPHs, relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.
- Performance and Delivery
- Administrative Support:
- Receive, organise and dispatch incoming and outgoing correspondence while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
- Handle tasks such as filing, record-keeping, scheduling, and follow-up of correspondence and specific task activities to address operational requirements and meet client needs.
- Time and Attendance Control:
- Accurately capture all required employee movement transactions, such as leave, overtime, standby, and accumulated leave, into the Time and Attendance system to enable precise reporting on overtime, absenteeism, etc.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure data accuracy and maintain data integrity.
- Systems Control and Maintenance:
- Keep manual and electronic systems updated to maintain data and generate accurate documentation.
- Complete and update applicable process documentation and computer-based system requirements to record and preserve information.
- Customer Services:
- Promptly deal with queries and provide timely feedback to ensure efficient problem resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure orders are processed on time and regularly follow up to ensure timely distribution to meet customer satisfaction requirements.
- Ad Hoc Support:
- Assist the Section Manager and co-workers according to their level/area of competence while following company policies when instructed or during the absence of the responsible person to ensure the achievement of functional objectives.
This role is in the P&O - People & Organisation (P&O) NC at a Band A3 level reporting to the Section Manager People & Organisation.
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Relevant Administration /HR Certificate on NQF4
- SA Drivers License Code B
Experience
- 2-3 years relevant experience in P&O Administration.
- Comprehensive understanding of P&O administrative processes relevant to the role.
- Understanding of the mining value chain.
- Familiarity with the documentation, sign-off, and approval processes associated with the role.
- Knowledge of P&O procedures and protocols.
