Job Description
As
Learning Delivery Coordinator Mining you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Safety, Health, and Environment
- Consistently apply Safety and Health principles in all learner interactions and take personal responsibility for safety to eliminate fatalities.
- Act as a role model and reinforce a workplace culture where safety and health are paramount.
- Provide an environment for learners to challenge and act on unsafe behaviours without repercussions.
- Collect and summarise specific risks within the working area and implement plans/systems to avoid them.
- Review and assess the impact of critical risks and monitor the effectiveness of critical controls relevant to the work area.
- Identify PUEs and monitor critical control performance for learners.
- Embed critical controls into the daily work practices of learners and learning personnel.
- Manage Safety and Health systems within the work area.
- Assess the safety leadership capabilities of trainers.
- Engage in physical safety checks, interventions, and coaching.
- Create safety reports and manage analysis of KPIs based on available data.
- Report deficiencies and implement plans to address deficiencies.
- Facilitate continual safety audits to ensure all safety requirements are met.
- Support site visits by internal and external visitors to ensure adherence to site safety systems (including induction).
- Active participation in VFLs, Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.
- Performance and Delivery
- Collaborate with P&O Counterparts:
- Align learning programs with organisational goals, policies, and career development plans.
- Work with P&O to understand and integrate employee development needs into learning initiatives.
- Engage with Department Heads and Managers:
- Collaborate on the design and implementation of department-specific learning programs.
- Regularly communicate with department heads to understand evolving learning needs.
- Perform monthly planning and weekly scheduling with the operational section, supervise training shift activities by learning delivery officers, and report progress and attendance to the discipline section manager following each training shift.
- Coordinate Learning Delivery personnel activities:
- Provide guidance, support, and resources for effective program delivery where required.
- Provide guidance, support, and resources for effective administration, scheduling and reporting where required.
- Oversee the performance and development of learning personnel to ensure high-quality learning outcomes.
- Oversee and guide supervisors in their monthly planning and weekly scheduling meetings and communicate the schedule to customers.
- Ensure that learning schedules align with strategic goals and adjust them to meet organisational objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of supervision provided by supervisors on training shift activities.
- Review reports on progress and attendance submitted by supervisors and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure comprehensive reporting mechanisms are in place and that supervisors meet reporting standards and deadlines.
- Ensure implementation and full utilisation of reporting and data/ records management tools and systems and track compliance.
- Interact with Employees and Teams:
- Solicit feedback from employees to understand their learning needs and expectations.
- Facilitate communication between employees and trainers to ensure a positive learning experience.
- Collaborate within the Learning Delivery Team:
- Share best practices, resources, and insights with other global and local Learning Delivery team members.
- Ensure consistency in learning approaches and methodologies.
- Ensure alignment with governance requirements regarding the learning QMS and accreditation requirements.
- Communicate with the Management Team:
- Provide regular updates and reports to the management team, at both operational and corporate levels, on the progress and impact of learning programs.
- Seek input from the management team to align learning initiatives with overall business strategies.
- Coordinate with the IT Department:
- Collaborate with the IT department to leverage learning delivery and management technology.
- Ensure the proper integration and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Engage with Learning Consultants and Providers:
- Evaluate external learning partners based on organisational needs.
- Collaborate with external consultants or providers to bring specialised expertise or resources.
- Participate in Industry Associations:
- Attend industry association events to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Collaborate with industry peers to share knowledge and experiences in learning and development.
- Engage with Professional Development Networks:
- Participate in professional development networks and associations to stay updated on the latest trends in learning and development.
- Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars for personal and professional development.
- Manage Relationships with Suppliers and Vendors:
- Work with suppliers and vendors for learning programmes, materials, resources, and technology solutions where required and applicable.
- Ensure timely delivery and quality of learning-related products and services.
- Community Engagement and Social Partnerships:
- Collaborate with Corporate Affairs to explore opportunities for corporate social responsibility through learning programs.
- Ensure alignment and collaboration with the Social Way Program within Kumba.
- People and Teams:
- Network, promote teamwork, provide support, and advise and influence performance to give effect to the Organisation Model.
- Manage subordinates' key performance areas:
- Manage the development and implementation of a personal learning and growth plan.
- Ensure succession planning processes are deployed to support creating an enabling environment.
- Grow performance capability and talent in the team.
This role is in the People & Organisation (P&O) at a Band 6 level reporting to the Principal Learning Delivery.
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Relevant Diploma on NQF6
- Relevant Degree on NQF7 (Preferred)
- Advanced Certificate in OD ETDP (Preferred)
- Technical Qualification in area of discipline, e.g. Trade Certificate, Mining Blasting Certificate, Minerals Processing Certificate NQF 04, ISO 9001:2015 Internal Lead Auditor (Preferred)
- MQA Assessor and Moderator Certification and Accreditation (Preferred)
- SA Driver’s License Code B
Experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience learning delivery methodologies, preferably in the applicable discipline, e.g. Mining, Processing, Engineering, QMS, or Systems.
- Understand adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Knowledge of various learning methods, techniques, and delivery formats.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems for scheduling, organising, tracking, and managing learning programs.
- Awareness of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to the organisation's sector.
- Understand evaluation models to assess the effectiveness of learning programs.
- Knowledge of creating engaging and effective instructional materials.
- Understand the specific skills and competencies required in the industry.
- Awareness of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance standards affecting learning.
- Understand ethical considerations in learning and the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
- Experience and competence in the use of SuccessFactors LMS and MS Office.
