Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Exploration & GIS Lead, you will be part of the Timmins Regional Exploration department. You will be responsible for providing geological support to the regional exploration team that will focus on logging exploration drill holes using current software.
- Logging regional exploration drill holes and collecting samples for assay;
- Assist in assuring the quality control and quality assurance of samples. Monitor and evaluate geological assay data quality;
- Complete field visits to drill sites to ensure drill and exploration programs are conducted to high company safety and environmental standards;
- Assist with completing weekly KPI’s, including assigned drillhole tracking and core logging related tasks.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in an Earth Science program, or Bachelors of Science;
- 1-3 years of experience in the geology field, in a similar role;
- Experience core logging using a standard geological software;
- Class G Drivers License is required;
- Experience using and/or interpreting various types of geological data in a GIS (ArcGIS or Map Info) platform for exploration applications;
- Experience using DHLogger an asset;
- Strong computer and data management skills;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday at our Timmins Regional Office. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
