Venezuela’s gold reserves drop 13% in 2024

Venezuela’s gold reserves dropped by 13% in 2024, ending the year at 53 metric tons, the central bank reported on Friday.
In 2023, the central bank’s gold holdings totaled 61 tons, according to the monetary authority’s balance sheets.
The value of Venezuela’s gold reserves at end-December stood at $4.24 billion, with the average price of gold estimated by the central bank at $2,492.58 per troy ounce.
