Toxic traces of lead mining in Missouri are hard to erase
The EPA has spent $127 million since 2020 on remediating mine waste and removing lead-contaminated soil in southeast Missouri’s Old Lead Belt.
Brazilian miner Vale will begin the process to build an iron ore briquette plant in Louisiana after wrapping up talks with the US Department of Energy for $282.9 million in financing for the project through 2031, the firm said on Wednesday.
