Lure of Anglo’s copper mines could test BHP’s spending resolve
BHP needs to offer at least a 40% premium over Anglo's share price for a new takeover bid, but its CEO has committed to spending discipline.
The London Metal Exchange (LME) has appointed former Credit Suisse banker Robert Arbuthnott as group chief financial and administrative officer, it said on Monday.
Arbuthnott served as head of group finance and chief accountant for the Credit Suisse Group for seven years and before that was the CFO of the UK business, a statement said.
Arbuthnott, a chartered accountant, take up the post immediately at the world’s oldest and largest market for industrial metals.
The LME is owned by Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd.
