China smelter group agrees to lower Q1 copper charges
The charges tend to fall when ore supply declines and rise when more concentrate is available.
MiningĀ giant Grupo Mexico, one of the world’s largest copper producers, on Wednesday said its net profit rose in the third quarter by 7.9% to $844 million compared with the same period a year earlier.
The company also reported a 28.9% increase in revenue year over year, to $3.65 billion.
Grupo Mexico’s shares fell 2% after the results was released early Wednesday.
