China’s 2025 steel demand to fall 1.5% on year, state research institute says
China's steel consumption in 2024 and 2025 is forecast at 863 million metric tons and 850 million tons, respectively.
Australia’s Fortescue Metals said on Friday it has appointed Christine Morris as its new chief financial officer.
Morris will replace Ian Wells, who resigned earlier this year after serving as the iron ore giant’s finance chief since 2018.
Morris, who will assume the role early next month, has more than 30 years of experience spanning across energy, media and telecom, manufacturing and technology sectors, the company said in a statement.
Most recently, Morris served as the finance chief of Copenhagen, Denmark-based drilling-rig operator Maersk Drilling. Prior to that, she was the CFO of oilfield services company BJ Services.
