Codelco’s copper production up 10% in August

Chilean state miner Codelco produced 10.1% more copper in August compared to a year earlier, the Andean country’s Cochilco copper commission said on Thursday, producing 125,300 tons while other major miners saw mixed results.
The BHP-controlled Escondida mine saw production rise 15.5% to 105,300 tons. Meanwhile, the Collahuasi mine, jointly run by Glencore and Anglo American, saw output shrink 11.3% to 48,800 tons.
