McEwen’s Los Azules copper project gets key environmental approval
The company anticipates construction to begin as early as 2026.
Chile is expected to produce about 275,000 metric tons of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) this year and 285,000 metric tons in 2025, the country’s copper commission Cochilco said in a report on Tuesday.
The global market is forecast to post a surplus of 117,000 tons of lithium this year and 191,000 tons in the next, Cochilco also said in the report.
