GVK Power to raise $1.2 bn debt for Hancock coal assets

India's GVK Power, a unit of infrastructure major GVK Group, which had inked a deal to purchase two of Hancock Prospecting's thermal coal mines in Australia for around $2.4 billion, is set to raise $1.2 billion as debt to part fund its acquisition. The Hyderabad-based GVK Power has roped in ICICI Bank to syndicating the $1.2 billion loan. Sanjay Reddy, vice chairman of GVK, signed an agreement with Gina Rinehart, chairman of Hancock, earlier in June.

ProSep annouces $1.8 million in new contracts

ProSep announced it was awarded $1.8 million in new contracts to supply a produced water treatment system for installation on a deepwater Gulf of Mexico facility and crude dehydration equipment for two oil sands facilities located in Alberta, Canada.

Vale’s $5.9bn Argentina potash mine gets green light

Dow Jones reports Argentina's Mendoza Province has lifted its suspension of the multibillion dollar Rio Colorado potash mine project being developed by Brazilian mining company Vale SA. Mendoza's Environmental Secretariat has allowed Vale to move forward with the mine after the company agreed to submit reports on its local hiring and procurement practices to the local authorities, the provincial government said in a statement.
