In May 2021, Centerra kicked off arbitration against the former Soviet republic after it took over the country's biggest mine for allegedly posing danger to human lives or the environment.
This was the fifth round of a larger tender process and it involved a total of 4,500 tenements of which 1,123 were purchased in the public offering stage.
