Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Lead Mine Technician, Underground, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
- Carry out various field-based assignments to support production and engineering activities;
- Demonstrate autonomy to help clients in addition to providing adequate service quality;
- Execute the daily tasks associated with supporting engineering and operations, such as surveying and mine layout creation/updates;
- Conduct special surveying assignments such as cavity monitoring surveys and drill hole deviation;
- Perform volumetric and other calculations to support engineering analysis;
- Responsible for the monthly (or bi-monthly) survey advance update for EOM purposes;
- Develop and maintain a high degree of precision and professionalism;
- Complete ventilation surveys and model updates as required;
- Assist UG drill & blast and services team as required in design and plan creation.
What You Need To Succeed
- College degree in Mine Engineering/Technology or higher;
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar role;
- Open pit survey experience is an asset;
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office suites, AutoCAD and mine design/planning software. Knowledge of the Deswik software is an asset;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
