Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To coordinate and deliver underground technical refresher and best practice training that reinforces safe work practices, operational standards and workforce competence. The incumbent conducts workplace competency assessments, identifies performance gaps, facilitates targeted coaching and refresher training, and monitors compliance with company, legislative and safety standards to support continuous improvement in operational performance and Zero Harm.
You will have the following:
- Diploma Safety Management (or similar)
- SAMTRAC (or similar)
- Advance computer skills Certificate or equivalent to it.
- Underground experience with TMM’s (Certifications if possible)
- Risk Management certification or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years' underground mining experience, including exposure to underground mining safety standards and operational best practices.
- Experience in workplace coaching, technical training, mentoring or competency assessment within a mining environment.
- Experience conducting workplace inspections, competency evaluations or safety observations.
- Experience in underground mobile equipment (TMM) operations and associated safe work practices would be advantageous.
- Experience facilitating technical or safety training programmes would be advantageous
- Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Swahili will be considered highly advantageous.
